Rya Åsar
Enjoy the surroundings in Sweden's most urban nature reserve.
Rya Åsar is like a world of its own with its beautiful and varied nature, and it's located almost in the middle of Borås. Here you will find loads of spots to enjoy: lush leafy forests, pastures, meadows, viewpoints, pine forests, lakes, high mountains and deep valleys. You can travel in botanical mastermind Carl von Linnaeus' footsteps, as at Grönbo there is a sunken pathway that Linnaeus used on his journey through Västergötland in 1746 and a memorial stone located along the sunken pathway in the south. Rya Åsar is also Sweden's most urban nature reserve, making it easy to combine your hike with the city's attractions. You can book hiking packages with accommodation in the city's hotels via Outdoor Support.
Parking is available in the area, including at Björbostugan. The nearest bus stop is Björbostugan (bus number 19). The bus top is just 600 metres away.
