The Linnaeus March in Borås
Experience the togetherness in Sweden's largest hiking event.
For over 40 years, the Linnaeus March has been held in Borås and is now Sweden's largest walking event. Here you walk in the beautiful nature reserve Rya Åsar, which was visited by Carl von Linnaeus in 1746. He wrote wonderful stories about this particular part of his journey, and you'll see there are several fantastic vantage points that offer wonderful views over the nature reserve as you walk in his footsteps.
Over two days you can choose from several different routes, walking or running. There is a route for everyone. From a wheelchair accessible trail of 3 km to a two-day hike of 57 km with an overnight stay in a tent. The trails take you through deep forests in Rya Åsar Nature Reserve and past lions in Borås Zoo. Walk along the winding valley of Viskan and along the shores of Öresjö. You can also experience exciting pieces of street art along the way. Hike, run or challenge the whole family in the Family Adventure with various adventure stations. Dogs are also welcome to join in.
The Linnaeus Walk is the only Swedish walk which has been granted membership of the international IML Walking Association whose walks are organised all over the world.
