With a guide, your art experience will be that much greater. Throughout the year, guided tours are offered at several museums (see more information under the respective museum) and during the summer we are expanding the offer with public guided walks in Borås in areas such as public art, history and street art, both for adults and children. If you are a larger group that wants a private tour, we can tailor it to your wishes.

We offer the possibility to customize a guided tour according to your wishes regarding content, time and starting point. Our experienced guides will take you on a walk through the city based on the desired content. Price from SEK 2,500 incl. VAT for up to 25 people. You will then have access to a guide for two hours. You can choose any of the themes offered on our public guided tours (see above) or from the ones below:

Public guided walks 2022

From wool trousers and silk corsets to smart textiles
In Borås, textile history is very much alive. It is a city full of stories, proud ambassadors, education, research and lots of
of knowledge. This guided tour takes you through Borås' textile development, using the railway and Viskan to the smart textiles and innovations of tomorrow. Borås' textile history is now part of the future. The tour is in and around the Textile Fashion Center, the Textile Museum, the Smart Textile Showroom, the Trade Lab and the Textile Academy. Estimated duration approximately 1.5 hours.


Public art
Join us on a guided tour of the public art in Borås and get more information about the sculpture biennial, No Limit Street Art, the artworks, the artists and an interesting anecdote. The public art in Borås is unique and during about 1.5 hours you will experience everything from small installations to 9 meter high sculptures and 27 meter high murals. The tour starts from the Textile Fashion Center. Estimated duration approximately 1.5 hours and includes a walk of 3.5 km.

An artistic adventure for children
We have selected works of public art that are particularly suitable for children and presented them in a playful way, inviting participants to interact. We give children new impressions and invite them into a world of colour, form and emotions. All within walking distance of the city centre. Guided tours start from the main square. Estimated duration about 45 minutes and includes a walk of about 1.5 km. It is perfectly possible to walk with a pram. Please note that this tour is free for both children and accompanying adults but tickets must be booked in advance.

Here's what you didn't know about Borås
This is a guided tour with stories about events in Borås, with facts and anecdotes in a mix of past, present and future. For example, do you know where the last gallows were located, where criminals were hanged? Or that the miracle cloth was discovered in Borås? We promise a fun and educational tour! The guided tour goes largely along Viskan, via the Viskan Promenade, towards Druvefors and then back to Stora torget. Estimated time about 1 hour 45 minutes and includes a walk of about 4.5 km.

Booking & prices
