Borås Zoo
Experience wildlife from all corners of the world.
Borås Zoo is one of Sweden's largest animal parks, and when it was founded in 1962, it was unique in its kind. The first animal to move in was Simba the lion cub, who accompanied founder Sigvard Berggren home from one of his many trips. Today, everything from giants of the savannah to the king of the forest are gathered in over 40 hectares of nature.
What still makes the park unique is its central location, within walking distance of both the city centre and Knalleland. Grab a bite to eat from the park's many eateries or bring your own food and have a BBQ. There are also several playgrounds around the park. As Easter, Halloween and Christmas approach, the park switches to seasonal themes.
