Ålgården
Artists' workshop and gallery on the banks of Viskan.
Ålgården was originally a mill founded as early as the 17th century. Nowadays, the entire Ålgårds area is used for arts and crafts and is run by the non-profit association with the same name. There is a workshop for several artists and a gallery where several exhibitions are held every year by visiting Swedish and international artists as well as the association's own members. The beautiful outdoor environment is also sometimes used for exhibitions.
Along with the exhibitions and workshops, the association also offers courses in its various genres, as well as crochet drawing, which has a long tradition at Ålgården. Anyone interested can become a member of Ålgården if they have the necessary skills to use the equipment independently. If not, the easiest way is to join one of the courses that are organised on an ongoing basis.
