Handling of Personal Data

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulates the handling of personal data. The regulation aims to prevent violations of your personal privacy through improper processing of personal data. Your personal data may only be processed if it meets the principles and requirements outlined in the GDPR.

What is personal data?
Personal data is any information that can be linked to you as an individual and can be used in any way to identify you. Examples include name, social security number, address, phone number, email address, IP address, images, videos, and audio recordings.

We only collect and handle the personal data necessary to fulfill our obligations.

Legal basis for processing personal data
Borås TME may only process personal data based on the legal grounds specified in data protection regulations. The following legal grounds are most commonly relevant when processing personal data:

• If you have given your consent (e.g., when registering for our newsletter)
• If it is necessary for us to perform a task of public interest or within our responsibilities

If any of Borås TME's providers process personal data to perform a service on our behalf, we have a data processing agreement with the provider. The agreement outlines how personal data may be handled.

Principle of public access
Borås TME is subject to the principle of public access, which means that personal data received by us is generally considered public records. Anyone has the right to request and access them, unless they are subject to confidentiality.

Your rights and access to registers
You can request a register extract containing your own personal data, information on how we obtained your personal data, why we have it, and if it has been disclosed to any third party.

If we have incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information about you, you have the right to request correction or supplementation.

You can also request the deletion of your personal data, provided that the data is no longer necessary for us to fulfill our obligations or if it is contained in a public record.
